Castlevania III Gets Australian Rating
Oh, how we love Australia's Office of Film and Literature Classifications. In yet another rating that inadvertently acts as an announcement, the OFLC has given Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse a G rating (via Joystiq), indicating it should be hitting the Wii's Virtual Console soon.
Castlevania III (which is obviously the third entry in the series on the NES) will fill in the last missing gap of the original series on the Virtual Console, as the NES's Castlevania and Castlevania II: Simon's Quest and the SNES's Super Castlevania IV are already available. Castlevania III eschewed the more experimental adventure elements of Castlevania II, taking the series back to the straight action platformer gameplay of the original. Three new characters were also introduced, including Sypha Belnades, the awesomely named Grant DaNasty, and Alucard (Dracula's son who would of course go on to star in Symphony of the Night).
Of course, an Australian rating doesn't necessarily mean a U.S. release is assured, but we'd be surprised if an official announcement doesn't follow soon.
