Steve Jackson Games is one of the more well-regarded makers of pen-and-paper role-playing games (such as GURPS, Munchkin, and Toon). Way back in 1980, a year after the "Choose Your Own Adventure" series appeared, Steve Jackson Games created Fighting Fantasy, a series of "gamebooks" that melds pen-and-paper RPGs and the mechanic central to "Choose Your Own Adventure" -- picking your path through a story.

Now in the hands of another publisher, the series is in the middle of a relaunch, which also includes a videogame. The first videogame based on the series, The Warlock of Firetop Mountain, is an adaptation of the first Fighting Fantasy story, where the hero seeks to defeat an evil warlock.
