Relic Officially Announces New Company of Heroes Expansion
Back in August, a listing for a new Company of Heroes title mysteriously appeared on Amazon.com. It took about three months for Relic to acknowledge it, but now it's official: Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor, the third stand-alone expansion to their critically acclaimed World War II real-time strategy game, will be hitting retail stores next spring.
As Shacknews reports, Tales of Valor will add three new single-player campaigns and new (although unspecified) multiplayer modes. There will also be the requisite addition of new maps and units, and a new "direct-fire" feature, which supposedly gives players "more tactical control of their units and more strategic options in-game."
"Company of Heroes is one of the most critically acclaimed RTS series of all time," said Peter Matiss, vice president of publisher THQ. "With Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor, Relic Entertainment is delivering an all-new, standalone chapter in the franchise and continues to push the boundaries of innovation and quality in the genre."
